We are pleased to announce that we will be attending four premier business-to-business summits again this year. We reckon they are the best events of their kind.

From the 16th – 19th of June we will be participating at both the Human Resources Forum and the Communication Directors Forum. Both events are organised by Richmond Events and will be on board the Arcadia ship. For more details visit:

www.hrforum.co.uk

We will also be attending the People Development Summit, which will be held in Barcelona from the 10th - 12th of March.

Finally, we will be at the Human Resources Summit, which will be held in Hamburg from the 6th – 8th of October. Both events are organised by Summit Events, and you can find out more about their two summits by visiting:

At all four events, invigor8 consultants will be meeting HR or Communications professionals in a mix of one to one business meetings and mealtime conversations. If you would like help in getting an invitation, either contact the organising companies direct, or email Peter Gannon: peter@invigor8.eu

Major conclusion from the MacLeod Review

David MacLeod and Nita Clarke were commissioned by the Department for Business (BIS) to take an in-depth look at employee engagement and to report on its potential benefits for organisations and employees. The Secretary of State for Business, Lord Mandelson, asked the independent reviewers to examine whether a wider take up of engagement approaches could impact positively on UK competitiveness and performance, and meet the challenges of increased global competition.

The report, published 16 July 2009, recommends the Government should work to raise awareness of employee engagement benefits, and support employers hoping to enhance levels of employee engagement.

Engagement expert David MacLeod, author of the report, said, ‘This is about unleashing the potential of people at work and enabling them to be the best they can be. Whether we are in a downturn or in better economic times, engagement is a key to innovation and competitiveness.’

invigor8 supports organisations seeking to improve employee engagement and deliver improved performance and we work across all sectors in the UK. If you would like to discover more about how we can help your organisation, please contact Peter Gannon: peter@invigor8.eu

  invigor8 have a Mayor
We were delighted to welcome Councillor Jim Spencer, Town Mayor of Otley, and other local dignitaries into the invigor8 offices last week. The Mayor was visiting successful local businesses and popped in for a chat with us. Peter duly showed him the ropes and explained the history of the Wharfebank site.

Out with the old, in with the new
Last week we were excited to launch our new brand, web site and domain name. It had been several months in the making, and proved to be quite challenging as we tend to be our own toughest critic! Thank you for all your positive comments about the new brand. Simon, Nic, Julian and the design team really appreciate your feedback.
